Not only was she a loving mother of 12 children, a self-confident and self-sacrificing woman. My mother – affectionately called “Mama Kusey” by her grandfather - was also known for her charitable way of supporting her family members, neighbours and those in need around her.
Born and raised in Marka (Somalia) and having originally Omani roots, I'm sure she would have loved to be in Zanzibar, which once used to be the capital of the Sultanate of Oman .
Being grateful for her prayers and her parenting style, which helped me grow into a confident person, my goal is to fulfill her dream of being a successful businesswoman with "Mama Kusey Tours" while supporting the local community and charity projects in Zanzibar.
